Summer Vibes #1 Original Painting

This is the first piece from my new series, Hanging On The Line. I’ve always loved summer and can never get enough of it. During a recent holiday in Thailand, I noticed my striped bikini hanging on the washing line, and it struck me how visually striking that was. I thought it would be amazing to illustrate the scene and use it as a way to explore my ongoing fascination with stripes and the colour blue.

As soon as I sketched it, I knew it would work. The idea also reminded me of those typical Italian and Spanish streets I’ve seen so many times across Europe, where clothes lines stretch between buildings. One day, I plan to capture those scenes too.
